Spring fashion springs in to action around the bay
Spring in the city means one thing: local fashion. All over the area fashion shows and events offer countless opportunities to check out local designers both student and professional including:

Wednesday, April 13th
The Perfect Clash, an informal show produced by students in the Fashion Coordination program at San Francisco City College, features pieces from local stores and boutiques. Come out and enjoy a night of fashion, pop culture and a taste of the underground night life scene at Cocomo's Taste of Drag in the Castro. Admission is free, although donations to the San Francisco AIDS Foundation will be accepted at the event.
Thursday, April 14th
Project Ethos at Ruby Skye
Local designer Fashion Show featuring Cardiwrap by Kymaro, Danielle Pettee, Fredrick of Hollywood Swim, Kristina MIchele, Lucy Bea Swimwear, Menk Clothing, and Zoe Hong. Live music and night-long Art Gallery will also be on hand. 8PM-2AM. Presale tickets $15 general addmission, $40 VIP via wanttickets.com.
Friday, April 15th
F3 at the Cotton Mill in Oakland is an ongoing, monthly evening art and fashion event featuring the best of local and emerging artists and designers. On Friday April 15th F3 will hold its first ever Fashion Show. Event begins at 6PM. No cover. F3 for more information.

the de Young Museum hosts a preview night for the 2011 Discarded to Design charity event. No host reception begins at 5:30 with an awards ceremony following at 8PM. For more information visit the official de Young Museum website.
Thursday, April 21st
The Fashion Network Association presents Enchantment, San Francisco State University's Spring Show featuring work from Apparel Design and Merchandising students. Tickets are $25 with a portion of the proceeds going to Visions of La Moda. Doors at 6:30, show at 7PM, San Francisco Design center. Check out the Fashion Network Association for more information.
Thursday, April 28th
Constituent Parts, an independent Fashion Show featuring Art Institute of San Francisco students Autie Carlisle, Cameron Stewart, Justin Jamison and Rachel Poulos. Style Wylde first told you about Autie Carlisle's Kickstarter project Geometric Nightmare, last year. Now is the chance to see the outcome of that project and the work of three other young and very promising designers. 111 Minna, doors at 7 $20 general admission, $15 students 21 and over please. e-mail constituentparts@gmail.com for more information.

One of the biggest, and most worthy events in the Bay area, Discarded to Design, the annual charity event featuring one-of a kind apparel and home decor reworked by local designers including Christopher Collins, Cari Borja and gr.dano from cast-off materials, celebrates its sixth year of fundraising for the St. Vincent de Paul Society in style. Event includes VIP preview and silent auction followed by a general reception and live auction at St. Mary's Hall in Hayes Valley. Tickets start at $75. The latest in an ever growing group of designers and promoters to set their sights on San Francisco, Explode La Mode unleashes its own brand of indie-fashion at SOM Bar the Mission (formerly known as Pink, for those old timers paying attention.) The show itself, with which promoters Josh Jones and Kento Tanka have had previous success producing in Portland during that city's Fashion Week, has been reinvented for San Francisco with a line-up of local designers including: Revleation by M.E, Sarah Liller and many other familiar names. Door at 9pm, Suggested donation of $10 collected at the door to benefit A Home Within.
