There was no denying the popularity of Ports 1961, and of its designer Fiona Cibani, as an at-or-over capacity crowd which included many celebrities, filed into the theater at Lincoln Center on Friday afternoon to witness the Spring 2011 collection.
Desert landscapes, and "their mesmerizing effect on the human spirit" were said to be the major inspirations for the collections which featured soft nubby cottons, flowing silks, and coated linens in a pallet of pale sands, blues, and the occasional pop of fuchsia.

By the final looks which included more than one to-die-for gown, it was clear that Cibani's desert-vision for the Ports 1961 Spring collection had been a huge success and would only serve to further bolster the label's growing following of fashion fans.
