Fall trends: going grey

Who says grey-days have to be a bad thing? Muted grey tones were showing up all over the runways at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in a variety of surprising elements, that gave a breath taking overhaul to an otherwise blah hue.

Our favorite takes on this cool neutral color palette. included relaxed 80's inspired silhouettes as seen at BCBG right and online at Moxsie.com ( below), or , for later in the season ladylike coats and dresses at Marc Jacobs (pictured top left  left) .

MilesConcerned an all-grey ensemble will have your complexion looking dull, and your hair looking flat?  Never fear the new greys are warmer with yellow undertones that won't leave your skin looking blue, and can be worn as accent pieces like the luscious Lamott Satchel from San Francisco based handbag house 49 Square Miles, and the perfect for summer-transition-to-fall Carly bootie from Kelsie Dagger.

Still looking for a subtle, and inexpensive way to add grey to your wardrobe? This fall grey is making a play for your fingertips! Inspired by the custom blended color seen on nails at the Marc Jacobs show, countless companies including OPI, Rimmel London, and Cover Girl are putting out a range of lacquers that run the gamut from grey to taupe. Our favorite, Rimmel London's lasting Finish Pro in Steel Grey. Easy to apply with a chip-proof formula that lasted a full week before signs of wear began to show on our nails, it's an absolute steel-deal at it's under $5 price.
