The last days of Bryant Park

Nostalgia was omnipresent, and a few tears were seen as the last collections to ever show at Bryan Park for Mercedes Benz fashion week took to the runways on Thursday. Tommy Hilfiger, whom had the honor of being the very last collection to show in the tents, took the opportunity presented in his bow to grab a microphone and give a short speech thanking IMG and Fern Mallis for their support of the years.

In addition to Hilfiger, there were many mainstream American labels showing on the last day such as Isaac Mizrahi, Calvin Klein, and Ralph Lauren the more creative, artistic side of style was well represented with collections from Davidelfin, Trias, and surprisingly from the normally safe, J Mendel.
When all was said and done, the general feel was bittersweet, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week at Bryant Park has been a fact of the industry for 18 years, and despite an exodus from the tents in recent seasons, many industry insiders felt the weight of "The end of an era in New York Fashion" as the tents were finally closed down.
