Fear factor

There was something fantastically unsettling about the Hussein Chalayan Spring 2011 collection, which showed in Paris over the weekend.  Between hooded-heads in the first few looks, or the other-worldly make-up on the models the overall effect felt like a perfectly executed, eerie homage to  Japanese horror film ( think Ringu).

The beauty, and exquisite detail of  collection which managed to feel both like couture pieces and  entirely reasonable  ready-to wear can be  best illustrated by the designer's film of the collection "Sakoku", shown below.
