A favorite among cutting edge fashion fans including Patricia Fields, Courtney Love,  Madonna and Helena Bonham Carter designer Rick Owens has consistently created sumptuous collections that elevate fashion to an art form. For Spring 2011 he once again delivered simple, yet completely unexpected looks that seemed to break with trend in a way that was as fascinating as it was refreshing.

image via style.comCompletely casting off the repetitive themes we've seen throughout the New York, London, Milan and Paris  Fashion weeks such as "80s", "Mad Men" , and "Mixing Patterns", Owens opted for minimal embellishments, subdued color palettes and floor grazing gowns that were both romantic and exquisitely  melancholy.
