Winter sports style

Gone are the days of boxy jackets and ill-fitting bibs. With a flurry of companies creating stylish winter sports gear you can look fabulous no matter what  the state of your skill set is.

We are mad for plaid on the slopes, especially when it's a super breathable GMP Dream jacket from Burton. Leather closures, tons of vents, media pockets, and Burton pant-interface system* make this shell as functional as it is fashionable. $259 online at Burton.com.

Wear it with matching Lucky Dream board pants, or mix it with black a variety of shades throughout the season.

Sure safety may be the main concern when choosing a helmet,  but there is no reason protecting your noggin can't come with a little style. Take this Pro-Tech B2 Snow Snow board helmet in 80's inspired black and white graphic print. ASTM and CE certified with multi-impact protection. On sale for $64 at Sierra Snowboard.

Apres ski has never looked as good as this fleece hoodie from Mike and Chris. Slip it on  over a long sleeved  base layer on chilly days or on it's own for a Spring ski run to give a little chic twist to your post workout garb.$76 at the outnet.

Great runs often mean bad helmet hair. Stay warm and hide the frizz with this super cute cable knit visor from North Face. On sale now at Sports basement for $20.

A cure for the common Uggs... No need to defile your feet with those hideous clunky suede boots from down under, when you can slip into these sleek and cozy apres ski boots from spyder. Your feet will thank you. $204 at Zappos.

I must get those boots! But the plain ski outfit, that is just wrong. It looks like something that belongs on the golf course.
