Japanese Weekend

image: D.Nolan for Style Wylde

For internationally aware fashionistas the only place to be Saturday morning, was the unveiling of the New People building in San Francisco's Japan Town Center, for the New People World Fashion Show featuring collections from Baby the Stars Shine Bright,  Black Peace Now, and Alice and the Pirates

A rare glimpse in to the art of Japanese street style, and more specifically  Lolita Style, be it sweet, gothic, or classic the show transfixed onlookers with the eclectic array of ensembles.

Nolan for Style WyldeCertainly not for everyone, the lolita-looks, which varied from 'pirate' to 'little bo peep' in attitude, were a fun departure from the staid, everyday looks we are so used to seeing on the streets of San Francisco.

whoaaa! I would totally wear this! At first I was reticent and thought it's so carnival-ish! But now I keep dreaming about a trip to Japan to see and feel the Goth Lolitas firsthand! And get my proper Lolita makeover and full getup!
