The dichotomy between the punk rock girl and the well mannered lady was a major theme in Narciso Rodriguez's Fall 2012 collection, and to match these two seemingly in-conflict ideas, Dick Page Artistic Director of Shiseido, developed two separate, but equally amazing beauty looks for the collection.

Here's how they did it:
Both looks began with a clean, uncomplicated base for which to feature the dramatic lip and eye looks. To get this Page and his team started both looks with clean, well-moisturized skin and applied a wash of Dual Balancing Foundation (everywhere except the eyelid) to remove any redness or imperfections. Using a foundation sponge, he "lost" the edge of the lip so there was no harsh line of demarcation. He applied concealer as needed, avoiding the eye area.
For the first look, a bold slash of color on the eyes which Page called "Naturally Punky", they created two variations: orange and chartreuse . Page and his team applied a blend of cream shadow from the INOUI ID line he created in the 90's (which is no longer available) to each girl using a fluff brush. (For those wanting to try this look at home, Page suggested using Shimmering Cream Eye Color in Techno Gold and Luminizing Satin Eye Color Trio in Fire.) To add emphasis to the eye look, Page and his team continued using a Shiseido Small Eye Shadow Brush to apply Accentuating Cream Eyeliner in Black (1) in a very thick, haphazard line across the top lash line. Using the same brush, he created a "cat scratch" line along the bottom lash line. Page explained that the look should be “scribbly, and it's ok if eyes are not perfectly matched." No mascara was used, and brows were left au natural. For the Naturally Punky look, Page kept the emphasis on the eyes and applied Lacquer Rouge in Camel (available Fall 2012), tapped on using the fingertip simply to "tone down natural red" in the lip.

For the second look, a bold painted lip that Page called "naturally ladylike" Page and his team created three variations in red, orange and brownish red hues from the new Lacquer Rouge line (launching Fall 2012.) Lips were prepared for the color by an application of moisturizing lip balm. Using a Small Eye Shadow Brush, he applied either Lacquer Rouge in Blaze , Drama or Savage, following the natural line of the lip. To keep focus on the bold lip the eyes and brow were left bare.

The final effect of the multiple looks created for Narciso Rodriguez Fall 2012 was as Page explained, "A contrast between pristine and scratchy or mismatched by being, random with the lineup of makeup looks in the show. Models come out and they're individuals – you're not sure what you're going to get."
