From the runways to the racks: Iris van Herpen + United Nude

To augment her thoroughly spectacular Fall 2012 couture collection (which debuted in Paris just hours ago and of which we are rounding up the photos very shortly!) Dutch designer Iris van Herpen created a knock-out shoe in collaboration with United Nude.  Part whimsical flower-power and part sleek dominatrix in attitude, the shoes titled Thorn were created using "liquid slow molded uppers and sharp-spiked stones with a 7+inch heel and hidden platform. The spikes, made of hand cut stones such as Labradorite, Tiger’s Eye, Leopard Jasper and Moss Agate, pierce through the upper between the platform and heel, creating a semi-precious arch of thorns that form the focal point of this ferocious bootie."

According to the official press release, the Thorn bootie will only be produced in limited quantities, but will be available online via United Nude, in matte black, patent black and glossy nude for $1,650.00 USD.
