Get it while it's hot

August is here, and stores all over the Bay Area and online will be wheeling out the back-to-school stock.  Even if you are happily post-grad the urge to stock up on the newest cashmere and wool  styles can be strong, but we suggest you hold off on the cold weather stuff, and check out the wealth of  summer merchandise getting red-lined and reduced. After all, in our weather microcosm the hottest days still lie ahead.

Derek Lam is not known as a bargain-brand but these not-too skinny, dark wash jeans have a fashion durability that makes the sale price down-right doable.  We appreciate the designers rejection of the tattered, whiskered and throughly trashed finishes that have dominated denim over the last few months, and are hoping everyone else will take notice and follow suit.
