October scene: Shop big, shop often
Uniqlo's original location in the Ginza shopping district of Tokyo/Image: C.Hope for Style Wylde
This month, we are starting off doing something we don't often do at Style Wylde, we are taking our focus off the small indie boutiques so we can check out some BIG events happening at the major-retailer flagship stores around the Bay. This is not to say that we don't encourage everyone to get out and shop local this weekend, (and we have some suggestions for that below) but occasionally the big guys have some good stuff going down and this weekend that is exactly what is going down.
First up the news all the Japanaphiles have been waiting for: Mega lifestyle brand Uniqlo opens in Union Square Today! Mega popular throughout all of Asia for their high quality yet affordable basics, and their one of a kind capsule collections, the Tokyo based retailer opens its doors at the flagship Powell street (formerly DSW) location today. Packed with cutting edge tech such as dressing room mirrors that allow you to see color options in a particular selection without changing clothes, the store is bound to be a major draw to the heart of the SF shopping district.
Next up: A host of hot designers contribute to Anthropologie's Made in Kind capsule this Month. From Karen Walker to Vineet Bahl some of New York's brightest rising stars have already contributed to the on-going Anthro project, this month sees two of our favorites join the fray: Samantha Pleet and Gregory Parkinson.
