Radio Wylde: LazyTwo
The latest addition to the Radio Wylde playlist is LazyTwo, a three piece outfit from Manchester, England who have recently released their debut album, Audio Alloy.
The album shows the band experimenting with a variety of sounds and is an eclectic mix of stand out tracks. England's Grey, Unpleasant Land with its heavily programmed keyboards and quirky rhythm is reminiscent of the Gorillaz, whilst The People’s Drug and Enjoy Your Life show us the more organic, guitar driven side of the band. If the band were not without a record deal, Better Than Life and Slow It Down would be definite single releases.
With such musical variety on display the album sometimes lacks a cohesive flow from song to song. But like a good compilation album there are plenty of tracks that are worth listening to in their own right. I’ll be keeping an eye and ear on LazyTwo as it will be interesting to see the musical direction the band takes as they mature.
A sampling of LazyTwo’s music can be found on Myspace and you can purchase Audio Alloy at iTunes.
