Scene in Tokyo: Harajuku Fashion Walk Part 3
Over the last week we've been showing off all the amazingly original and creative outfits seen on the Harajuku Fashion Walk that took place in Tokyo on Sunday, March 23rd. For parts 1 and 2 of this series please go here and here.
Just to recap, on the invitation of Kjeld Duits the founder of and photographer behind the globally popular Japanese Streets, I attended this one-of-a-kind fashion event where young fashionistas (and fashionHEstas) from all over the world meet up in Tokyo for their own guerilla fashion parade. We walked the back streets of Harajuku winding our way through the neighborhood and attracting tons of attention.
As the walk came to an end, not only did I have a hugely renewed respect for the participants, who are more like self-styled performance artists than trend-followers, but I also had a renewed respect for street style photographers! (It really isn't as easy as it looks!)
Okay, enough about me, let's get to what we are here for, the FASHION!
