Street scene: Harujuku
Very possibly the most famous neighborhood in Tokyo, it's impossible to talk about Japanese street style without making a stop in Harujuku. And while today ( Sunday, March 17th) was quieter than usual, most likely due to the ENORMOUS St. Patrick's Day Parade going off around the corner, there was plenty of fun fashion to caption.
Here are a few favorites:
Gothic Lolita, like those looks pictured left, were definitely the minority in Harujuku today, which is unusual for sure, but the variety between sweety ( the pink red look) Lolita and a more toned modern Lolita ( black and grey) was vast in those we saw rocking the trend.
Sporty, almost with a 70's vibe was big trend on the street today, such as this fun look in blue ( right).
Also in abundance, monochrome print mixing with layers of tights and socks, such as this black and white look (pictured left) .
Finally, the most fun looks, and those that looked like they were having the most fun, were these two, dressed in Technicolor, almost 90's "raver" garb.
