Hawaiian haiku

I recently got offered a summer job working on a boat in Hawaii.  It will be an awesome way to spend the next 2 months swimming, surfing and fishing ( I'd be a guide on a small sailboat that takes tourists  off the coast of Kauai).  The only problem is leaving my girlfriend for such a long period of time. I think the distance will be too much for us, but I am also afraid that if I stay here for her, I will end up being miserable all summer long thinking about what I could be doing? Help!
