Tosca Soraya debuts in San Francisco

Tosca Soraya's debut collection Hardscore/ Image: Style Wylde/S. WhittleThursday evening a small, and very patience group gathered at the Vitra Building in San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood to preview the Fall 2010 collection from Dutch born, Shangahai–based designer Tosca Soraya.

The collection titled “HARDSCORE” was comprised of dresses, jackets and pants inspired by everything from the film Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, to Lady Gaga,  to speed skating spandex leotards seen on the ice at the Olympics.  This wild range of inspiration, combined with the designers obvious exuberance and potential made for an imaginative if not totally cohesive or well edited collection.

Overall  the presentation, despite a few production wobbles and very unfortunate lighting, showed great promise for Soraya in the future as she continues to grow and gain experience in the industry.
