Trend report: locks go long at Mercedes Benz Swim

When it came to matching swimsuits and beach cover-ups with perfect summer hair, one thing was clear at Mercedes Benz Swim Week in Miami, it's all about long locks, that move in a cascade of un-done waves for Summer 2012.
It was easy to see why so many designers gravitated to longer, wavy locks on the runways; part mermaid, and part Bond-babe this look couldn't be more sexy and feminine. But is it one we can all rock in the real world?

Obviously, we are not all able to head to the salon every time we want gorgeous runway-ready waves, so we asked local
Miami "housewife" Adrianna gets in on the waves at A.Z.Araujo/Frazer Harrison/Getty North Americastar-stylist Dwight Davis of Stephen Saiz Salon in San Francisco how to DIY the look at home. He suggests:
Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray, available at salons everywhere
"On dry hair spray a beach mist or surf spray on 2 inch wide vertical sections, take a regular curling iron and wrap the hair around the outside of the iron not using the clamp, starting at the base of the section wrapping down the iron holding the end of the hair with thumb and forefinger, wrapping the hair away from face to give a more modern look. Continue throughout the entire head. Run your fingers through it and go!"
