Backstage Beauty: Lela Rose Fall 2011
Old Hollywood glamour was in full force backstage at the Lela Rose Fall 2011 collection where the Ted Gibson team and the Stila Cosmetics crew created gorgeous silver-screen ready looks.
The look: Silver screen goddess of the golden era. Hair in retro waves, soft eyes and dynamic burgundy lips as the center piece of the look.
How the hair was done: The Ted Gibson team started by creating a sharp side part using Tame It Shine Lotion. Strands were then wrapped around a large barrel iron to create curls. Curls were pinned in place to set with a light coat of Beautiful Hold Hairspray and then loosed up with a brush before being smoothed into a sleek 'S' shape.
Beauty basics : In order to give models the retro bold lip, and glowing skin the Stila Cosmetics team began by applying Stila sheer tinted moisturizer to even out skin tone. Cheeks were then given a splash of coral with Gladiola convertible cheek color. Eyes were made soft and glowing with Stila Kitten and Eden blended over lids and lashes were made long and lush by curling and following with a few coats of Stila mascara. The dynamic lip, the real center piece of the look, was then created by Stila Long Wear lip color in Daring, combined with Stila Smudge Pot in brown to give lips a hyper-pigmented stay put pout.
Insider info: Five days into Fashion Week, model's complexions start to show signs of wear. To get that fresh, glowing look Clarisonic was on hand to give models a quick facial and under eye-treatment. Stay tuned to SW for more on exactly how the products were used + an exciting giveaway for you, our loyal readers!
Real-World Readiness: This soft and lovely look easily works for off-runway days or evenings, and although the look was created for the Fall collections, the versatility of the color palette, and the classic waves are perfect year round.
