Loving L'Occitane

By: Bianca Cunningham special contributor to Style Wylde

Like many others, I have flirted with a variety of product lines over the years, I’ve had dalliances with everything from Cetaphil® to SKII®, but time after time I find myself coming back to my true love, L’Occitane en Provence®.

My love affair with L’Occitane began a few years back when I discovered the NYC boutique hotel I was staying in had stocked the bathroom with the products. Unlike the average coconut creams and shampoos I’d ignored in other hotels, I found myself slathering everything on in that bathroom (and stashing the rest for later). It was intoxicating—my hair never looked better, the shower gel was amazing and the body lotion smelled divine.

Immediately upon return I hit up the reviews on Makeup Alley so that I could better navigate the line without making any $50 mistakes. I quickly learned that their shea, honey, verbana and Aromachologie lines had impressive, almost cult-like followings.

Armed with knowledge, I gave each of the lines a try and discovered what to this day I still love most about L'Occitane, their ability to scent a product correctly.

Always organic and sustainably created (even before it was ‘hip’ to be green) everything L’Occitane is a beautiful blend of herbs and florals, none of which are overwhelming herbal, or sickly sweet.

There are five L’Occitane boutiques in the San Francisco Bay Area, and if you've never ventured into one of their stores the summer 50% off sale, going on now, is more than enough reason to stop by.

Here are some products to check out:

- Aromachologie hair and body products (Love the dry and damaged shampoo, conditioner and radiant hair mask)

- Shea butter anything

- Verbana Eau de Toilette (for a hot summer day)

- Jasmine Eau de Parfum (for a warm summer evening)

To shop the sale online, or to locate the L’Occitane nearest you log on to the official site.
